JASON MELANCON

Hi, I’m Jason Melancon

I’ve been working with computers long enough to remember when saving your work felt like a gamble and loading a program required a bit of patience—and maybe a little luck.

My journey started back in 1984 with a TRS-80 MC-10. From there, I moved on to a Commodore 64, an Atari 800XL, and eventually an IBM PS/2 in the early 90s. Like a lot of people who got into computers early, I didn’t just use them, I took them apart, figured out how they worked, and put them back together (most of the time successfully).

Since then, I’ve spent decades building PCs, troubleshooting issues, and helping friends and family make sense of their systems. Somewhere along the way, this stopped being just a hobby and became something I genuinely enjoy helping others with.

What I Do

I help everyday people understand and use their technology with confidence.

That means:

- Breaking down complex topics into plain, understandable language

- Helping you set things up the right way the first time

- Troubleshooting problems without turning it into a science project

- Sharing practical advice based on real experience - not theory

- Whether you’re brand new to computers or just tired of fighting with yours, my goal is to make things clearer and easier to manage.

Why This Site Exists

There’s no shortage of tech information out there—but a lot of it either talks over your head or leaves out the parts that actually matter. I created this site to bridge that gap. Everything here is built around one idea:
Give you clear, useful information so you can actually do something with it.

No unnecessary jargon. No overcomplication. Just straightforward guidance you can use right away.

A Little Background

I’m originally from Southwest Louisiana. So, while this is a computer tech site, you’ll occasionally notice a bit of Cajun personality in how I explain things, usually in the form of simple, practical advice with a touch of humor. I’ve always believed that if something is truly understood, it should be easy to explain. That’s the approach I bring here.

What You Can Expect From Me

When you’re reading something on this site, you can expect:

- Clear explanations without the fluff

- Honest recommendations

- Step-by-step guidance when you need it

- A focus on what actually works in the real world

- If something’s complicated, I’ll simplify it.
- If something’s confusing, I’ll break it down.
- And if something’s unnecessary, I’ll tell you that too.

- Lastly, be warned that there will be some Cajun French words here and there, cher.

Let’s Make Tech Easier

Technology should work for you, not the other way around.

If I can help you understand your system a little better, solve a problem faster, or feel more confident using your computer, then this site is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do.

So take a look around, and let’s get your tech working the way it should.
